Whether you're a CAD professional or you've only just learned what CAD stands for (computer-aided design, in case you're wondering), BeckerCAD offers a comprehensive, easy-to-use, and affordable drawing and design package.

BeckerCAD essentially installs itself--the whole process from the moment we inserted the CD-ROM to the time we were able to start designing took about seven minutes. On the surface, BeckerCAD seems a bit simple--professional users may be a bit put off by the less-than-sophisticated packaging and somewhat basic user's manual. However, we strongly recommend giving BeckerCAD a chance to prove its worth as a user-friendly, quick, and relatively easy-to-use drawing and design CAD application.

BeckerCAD packs quite a bit of punch for its low price. Aside from 2-D drawing and editing capabilities, the package also lets you create 3-D objects from 2-D drawings, as well as convert scanned images into CAD drawings. Measuring features allow you to accurately calculate surface areas, volumes, and distances. The application includes a fair amount of sample drawings, building plans, CAD symbols, and 3-D symbols. New users should get a lot out of the tutorial and help sections, as they are designed for people who are just getting started with CAD.
